Transition Planning & Move Management Services
Future State Operations
For us to effectively open a new facility, it is critical to create and validate future state operations that work with the intended vision, scope, equipment involved, environment and design intent of the project. We also make a point to understand your corporate culture to ensure your transition is trouble-free and tailored for your business. Corporate·Initial Outfitting’s (C·IO) Transition Planning services will ensure efficient transition of clinical and support functions to new or newly renovated facilities through development of a methodical approach to planning and guiding operational activities and processes from start to finish.
Work Flows Between Departments
C·IO’s transition planning focuses on coordinating workflows within and between departments, communicating with & educating staff and developing workflow processes. Our experienced Transition Planners perfectly sync operations planning and occupancy planning; “doing so is difficult and demands a multidimensional team partnership and collaboration amongst all parties. 'It is important to recognize without effective Transition Planning, your staff, set into their their own habits and old procedures, will move into a newly designed facility or space with the same current work processes, which are usually what the new design or move was intended to improve upon or avoid completely”.
Move Management
Transition Planning services are frequently associated with move management, both services are unique, with distinct deliverables. Transition Planning addresses operations planning (e.g. operations concepts, policies/procedures, legal regulatory guidelines, budget control, design reviews, hospital tours, and existing department detailed Inventories) while answering the “why and how” questions related to the processes and practices of the new space.
Move Management addresses occupancy planning (e.g. IO master schedule, room relocation plans, existing furniture & equipment relocation plans, new commodity delivery installation plan, training plans, testing/inspection/acceptance plans and occupancy readiness) and is answering the “what and when” as it relates to the move itself. Transition Planning services happen first and then phase into Move Management services.
Our Foundation
The foundation of our Transition Planning process is the human component. The human component addresses the range of individuals that are directly involved in the transition, helping to fully prepare the users for the new environment they’ll be inhabiting. The delay between the last design development meetings and occupancy of the building typically brings different stakeholders into the picture. The objective of this component is to fully prepare all individuals for the significant operational transition that will occur and to minimize the impact that it will have on their daily role and task performance. Communication among all stakeholders and a smooth hand-off between stages are central to C·IO’s Transition Planning process, and vital to our projects overall success.
